Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you have all enjoyed the action-packed term as we move into the spring holiday period.
After reviewing the readership data of our newsletter over the term, school council have supported a decision for it to become a termly publication.
Our Assistant Principal has been doing a wonderful job of weekly reminders for parents to ensure that our community is up to date on all events happening across the school. The termly newsletter will be given a new name which will be created by the students themselves. We hope that this will be a celebration of learning rather a quick check every few weeks on what is happening.
There were some big celebrations after the Bulls took the flag in the EFL grand final today. While celebrations were also mixed with tears of disappointment, the sheer engagement of all involved was evidence of the importance of this school club to our students. I would like to thank the coordinator, Mr Jacobs, the coaching staff, Mr Price, Mr Kingdon, Mr Antonowicz and Mr Cumming for their commitment to the development of our student's football skills.
We are looking for more volunteers to help in the canteen for term 4, it’s the perfect thing to get involved in if you have a few hours to spare on a Wednesday or Friday morning. No experience is necessary, you will work with others the whole time in a fun organised environment.
Please contact the office if you can offer assistance. Even once a term would be a big help. We need you!
Thank you to all members of the EBT Pushcart team for their enthusiasm in the selling of tickets, organising of door prizes etc. for the community movie night tonight. We are also grateful to all of our parents for your support and presence at all of our extra school events. look forward to a new pushcart for the 2024 race at Maryborough.
A reminder that all students will be required to wear a hat in term 4 to comply with our SunSmart policy. Hats can be purchased at our uniform shop - Noone in Bendigo.
I was fortunate to be able to pop into the Grade 2 sleepover last night. To say that the students were excited would be an understatement. As they all listened eagerly to the night's activities from their camping mats, I was reminded how important these overnight experiences are in relation to the development of independence. While I know that there were some anxious tears in the lead up, I have heard lots of excited stories today from the students who attended. I would like to say thank you to all of our school staff who spent a night away from their families to offer this experience to our students.
Next term, a horticulturalist from FoodLadder will be coming to Epsom Primary School to teach students about the growing of plants and food production. The green house will be erected in the first few weeks which meant that Mr I had to do a power of work to get the concrete footings ready for this to occur. I would like to thank Mrs Whyte's husband who came to the rescue with his concreting knowledge and helped to get the job done.
Calling all students, parents and teachers...dust off those dancing shoes, shine up those juggling sticks and get ready for the annual favourite. Auditions to be held next term.
I wish all families a safe and wonderful break.
