Division Basketball
On September 6th, our girls and boys Basketball teams went to the Red Energy Arena and competed against local schools for the day. Both teams had some good results and improved over the course of the day. A big thanks to Mr Palmer and Mr A for taking both teams, training them and getting them ready for their day.
Division Athletics
We had 16 students competing at the Division Athletics this week. Selected students, ranging from 9-12 years old, were selected following their performances at our school athletics and cluster athletics days. All our students had a great day competing and represented themselves and our school with pride!

Music
Grade 3-6 -We have continued our work on creating compositions of various types for a range of purposes. We have refreshed our knowledge of how to read and play ukulele chord charts as well as major and minor chords on the keyboard.
Students have then experimented in making and performing compositions in pairs with both of these instruments. They could then see the relationship between the instruments and how the instruments sounded similar when playing the same chords.
Grade 1-2 - Genre Wars continues and so does their unbelievably unpredictable and eclectic tastes. They are able to listen superbly to various pieces of music of all sorts of styles and their feedback is getting more and more detailed.
They have been exploring the concept of harmony, both with voices and instruments and creating their own small pieces that reflect their understanding of this.
Grade Prep - Students have continued to learn about beats of 4 and 8, using this knowledge to learn and create some interesting dance moves. They have been playing the keyboard, playing specific notes to the beat of four.

Visual Arts
That's a wrap for term three in the art room, a short but busy term with our artists continuing to develop their skills, knowledge of artists, history of works, and application of knowledge in their own creative interpretations. Check out some of the amazing works, that are gracing our art room walls, from the term.

Auslan
Guess who?
We have been signing the footy jumpers and describing the colour and patterns shown.
Students have had the opportunity to describe their chosen football guernsey to their partner as they draw and colour in according to instructions. We even signed a number for the back.
We asked questions and learnt the signs for all the Australian Football Teams as well as looking at the difference in Auslan and English Grammar.
English- Which team do you barrack for?
Auslan- TEAM WHO/TEAM WHAT?
