Where Imagination Meets the Map in 3/4B! 

At the end of last term, the 3/4's had been exploring the knowledge rich topic of Geography within Australia and its neighbouring countries. We were learning to identify and distinguish between constructed and managed features, and how these differed across countries. Alongside this, students have been building their numeracy skills through mapping, learning about grid references, coordinates, keys and scale to accurately represent locations. To bring it all together, students created their own grid maps, combining their geographical knowledge with their new mapping skills to plot a range of natural, constructed and managed features with precision. In Religion, the students have begun learning about Jesus' family, exploring the people and relationships that shaped his early life. This has provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with our own family tree, as students reflect on their own family relationships and heritage in the same way.

This term kicked off with a focus on Australian History, where students have been developing the important skill of note-taking as they learn. This has helped them build strategies for recording and organising key information as they explore our nation's past.
