My name is Lynton Martin, and I am President of Preston/Reservoir Little Athletics Centre (PRLAC). Our new season is fast approaching, and we would love it if you could please share the attached flyer in an upcoming school newsletter.

Little Athletics is a fun and inclusive community sport option for children aged 5–17 of all abilities, providing opportunities to develop skills across running, jumping and throwing events in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Any queries can be directed to us at prestonreservoir@lavic.com.au or via the contact details contained within the flyer.

We have an upcoming Come & Try Day on Saturday 12 September at Edwardes Lake Park Athletics Track from 9:00am–11:00am, where families can come along, try some events, meet the team and experience the fun of Little Aths.

Thank you so much for supporting local community sport — it really does make a difference in encouraging kids to get active!

General Information

Our season kicks off on Saturday 3 October 2026 and runs through until the end of March 2027, with a five-week break over Christmas. We’re based at Edwardes Lake Park Athletics Track in Reservoir.

Each Saturday session starts at 8:15am and usually finishes around 10:30am (sometimes a little later at the start of the season when we have lots of new athletes).

A few times during the season we’ll run on Friday nights instead, usually when there’s a regional competition or long weekend. We also offer an optional midweek training session, particularly for athletes who would like some additional training.

Each age group takes part in four or five events per week — typically two track events, one jump and one throw. Our focus is on personal bests and skill improvement, rather than just winning!

Athletes in the Under 6 age group start with our On Track program, which is activity-based and fun, allowing our youngest athletes to build their skills while trying 1–2 events each week.

If this sounds good, we offer a two-session free trial for new athletes. You can register through the Trial Athlete Offer — simply use the age calculator to find the right age group and select Preston/Reservoir Little Athletics Centre.

After the trial, season fees are $200 plus a uniform, offering great value for families looking to get involved in athletics.

Well done to Wil, 5/6D for his efforts in SSV Football.

Last week Wil attended the SSV championships and the team brought home the trophy!

1000 kids from across Victoria tried out for the Vic team across 5 trials with the number reducing to a team of 20 that headed to Canberra.

Victoria played against NT, QLD, NSW, WA and SA and the Vic boys went through undefeated.

Wil played midfield and played some great footy and had the time of his life making new friends from around the state.
