2024 SJV House Sports
Our 2024 House Sports Day has been run and won! What a fantastic day we had last Friday at Ross Reserve Athletics track. We were blessed with magnificent weather for our big day of running, jumping, throwing and fun.
Our students, supported by our wonderful staff and amazing parent volunteers participated in their events with enthusiasm, persistence, sportsmanship and determination - and judging by the photos all with big smiles on their faces!
The scores were close thoroughout the day, and by the time final scores were calculated there wasn't much between the 4 house teams. This year's trophy was won by Green house, with Blue, Gold and Red not too far behind. The win for Green house was their first since 2011.
We also had 14 school records broken - something we have not been able to measure since the last time we were able to hold the day at an athletics track!
Congratulations to the following students who set new schools records:
Caris P - Yr 6 girls Discus - 29.56m

Each year we hold the 400m Championship race for year 6 students - the winners receive a medal and their name on a perpetual trophy. This year our winners were Angelika and Samuel - both in school record times!
Many thanks must go to all of the SJV staff - from teachers, leaders, LSO's, maintenance, canteen and office staff!! A complete team effort was required for our students to experience a sports day at an athletics track. Big thanks also to the parent volunteers who scored, raked sand, painted faces, and generally helped out throughout the day. Your assistance is much appreciated!
Here are some of the many photos from the day...
