Performing Arts
FOUNDATION
This term, Foundation students have been exploring emotions through Drama. Using characters from the movie Inside Out, they learned how facial expressions and body language convey different feelings. Students created emotion wheels and played a fun game where they spun a spinner to act out the emotion it landed on.
YEAR 1/2
Year 1 and 2 students have been responding to music in creative ways this term. They explored music from different cultures, expressed their feelings through movement, and described music using a variety of terms. Students also discovered instruments from around the world, listened to their unique sounds, and sorted them into different categories.
YEAR 3/4
Year 3 and 4 students have been honing their musical skills by creating their own compositions. Using a given rhythm, they chose melodies and recorded their performances using GarageBand. They also listened to and shared feedback on each other's work, developing their appreciation for composition.
YEAR 5/6
Year 5 and 6 students have been working on their Fractured Fairytale Movie Trailers. In groups, they wrote their own fractured fairytales, created storyboards, and planned their trailers with props. They then filmed, edited, and reflected on their creative processes. The students have thoroughly enjoyed this project, and the final trailers are looking amazing!
CHOIR
This term, we welcomed our enthusiastic Year 2 students to join the choir during Wednesday lunchtimes. With such a large and lively group, everyone has been thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to sing together!
NATIONAL GIRLS CHOIR
We were delighted to have Natalie from the National Girls Choir visit our school to run a special workshop. Felicia, Nanta, and Ellia participated in the session, where they had a fantastic time learning a new song and some exciting moves to go along with it.
