FOUNDATION

The Foundation students have been actively engaged in learning about desktop computers, focusing on developing their mouse and keyboard skills. Through various interactive lessons and hands-on activities, they are becoming proficient in navigating the QWERTY keybpoard and using a mouse.

 

YEAR 1/2

Students in Year 1/2 have been learning about the QWERTY keyboard layout and focusing on developing their touch typing skills. Through structured practice sessions and engaging exercises, they are improving their ability to type without looking at the keys, enhancing both their speed and accuracy. 

YEAR 3/4

Year 3/4 students have been exploring the innovative world of Makey Makey, a creative tool that turns everyday objects into touchpads. By using plug-and-play apps, they were learning how to connect and program these objects to interact with their computers. This hands-on experience is enhancing their understanding of circuitry and coding, while also fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.

 

YEAR 5/6

Students in Year 5/6 have been delving into the fascinating world of computer binary, learning how to represent data using binary code. They have been applying this knowledge by creating binary images, which involves converting pictures into a series of 0s and 1s.
