During Weeks 3 and 4, students have continued working hard with their learning activities. Highlights have included making rainbow calendars in Visual Art and cooking pancakes in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program. In Mathematics students have been using concrete materials and ICT to work on counting, adding, subtracting and much more. It is great to see classes visiting the library, reading preferred texts and engaging in phonics activities. Physical Education has been a hit these past two weeks, with learning about emotions embedded into lessons across the sub-school.
Student Support Group meetings continue in Weeks 4 and 5. We encourage all families to make time to meet with the teacher to discuss their child’s goals and progress.
Please ensure you check your child’s communication book daily for any notes from the classroom team and forms. Student indemnity forms have been sent home recently and we would appreciate their prompt return. We encourage all families to use the communication book to communicate with the classroom team. This ensures that the message goes directly to the classroom team.
Feel free to reach out anytime,
Amelia
Our Room 20 students have settled into the new semester wonderfully! They have been following the class schedule and routines, practising self and co-regulation strategies, and doing great learning in English, maths, science, music, SAKG and P.E. They have been enjoying getting to know each other and we can already see beautiful, budding friendships. We celebrated Tristan’s birthday on Monday and will celebrate Ajit’s next week! We are looking forward to learning, growing and thriving together at JSA this year!

Students have had a wonderful start to the year in VPC, and it’s to be a busy and exciting term! Our classroom is full of energy as students are involved in a range of engaging programs and hands-on learning experiences.
Students are engaged in various SBAT and VET courses this year such as SBAT Cert 2 in baking, Cert 2 & 3 in supply chain and operations, VET Visual Arts and AGA along with their usual Literacy, Numeracy, WRS and PDS. Some students will be participating in Enable work experience from next year.
Students have been doing team building/ Numeracy activity and enjoying participating in Art, PE and Science. We celebrated the birthdays of students over the school holidays. Great start VPC!
