Student Support Group Meetings

Our Student Support Groups (or SSGs) are the most important formal meeting for our teachers to work with you to plan supports and direction for your child's learning and wellbeing each term.

This term, our SSG meetings are held:

  • Week 3: Monday 9th February- Thursday 12th February
  • Week 4: Monday 16th February- Thursday 19th February
  • Week 5: Monday 23rd February- Thursday 26th February

Please ensure to book your SSG meeting directly via XUNO. Classroom teachers will continue to distribute hardcopy forms, via your child's Communication Book.

Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Term 1 has focused on building strong routines and positive relationships between students and their teaching teams. During these early weeks, teachers have been working closely with students to get to know them as learners, completing a range of assessments and classroom tasks to understand each child’s current level of achievement and identify the most effective strategies to support their growth.

This information forms the foundation of our Student Support Group (SSG) discussions and directly informs the development of each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP). IEP goals are carefully designed to be purposeful, measurable and achievable within each semester, ensuring clear direction and meaningful progress throughout the year.

IEP reports will be available via the XUNO portal from Friday 20 March.

We value your partnership in this process and look forward to working together to support your child’s learning and success in 2026.

NAPLAN

National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests will be conducted from Wednesday 11 March to Monday 23 March.

Students are eligible to participate in NAPLAN if they fall into an appropriate age equivalent year level.

Students with significant intellectual disabilities can be exempted from one or all of the NAPLAN 2026 tests. In certain circumstances, adjustments are available for students to enable them to participate in the tests. You are advised to discuss with your child’s teacher whether or not your child should undertake the NAPLAN 2026 tests. Ellen Paterson, the Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning will have details of these adjustments and of their appropriateness for your child. If your child qualifies, and you have any queries or would like your child to undertake one or all of these assessments please send a confirmation email to Ellen Paterson via: Ellen.Paterson@education.vic.gov.au no later than Thursday, 26th February 2026. For further information about the NAPLAN tests, please visit the NAP website at www.nap.edu.au
