Junior School

你 好 (ni hao) Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 families, 

What an amazing Term 3 we've had across Junior school. It's been great to see so many students getting involved in so many different activities including book week, excursions, incursions and ICE. Thanks to all parents for your support and to those who have been able to be involved. It really helps us deliver high-quality programs!

This week, students across the school enjoyed footy & sports day where they worked through various sports rotations including handball, tackling and marking practice. It was great to see students excited about sports, keeping active and having a go! 

In Foundation this week, students had their Guided Inquiry showcase for their History unit, “Now and Then”. Throughout the unit students explored how they have changed over time, how families have changed, how MPRPS and school life is different to the past and then looked briefly into what they want to be in the future. Thanks to all the parents who were able to make it to the showcase and ask questions about students learning. Students are always excited to get families into the classrooms and share what they’ve been learning. 

In Phonics, Foundation has introduced diagraphs ch, sh, and ng and have started on CCVC (consonant, consonant, vowel, consonant) words, which refers to the phoneme structure such as blob, drip, snug, bless & clock. We have also briefly begun (and will continue in term 4) with basic suffixes plural ‘s’ and past tense ‘ed’.

Reminders: 

• Hats are back! Just a reminder that students are to wear hats during lunch and recess play. If your child brings their hat home during the week, please ensure that is it placed back in their bags for the following day.
• Reminder to please leave toys at home.
• Please bring in a boxes of tissues for your class if you are willing and able.
• School uniform colours are navy blue and orange. Please ensure your child clothing is of these colours, including Jackets.
