Japan Festival Day- this Friday May 1st!

Dear Families and Caregivers,

We are very much looking forward to celebrating our Japan Day Festival this Friday, May 1!

We have an exciting line-up of external workshops and demonstrations, including kendo, manga drawing, and taiko drumming. Each session throughout the day will be filled with Japanese crafts, sports and activities. We also have another whole-school collaborative art project in the works! Students are also invited to dress up in Japanese/Asian-inspired costumes to help celebrate the spirit of the day.

The Japan Shop will be open on the day, featuring an exciting range of Japanese-themed products. Please see the attached flyer for a preview of what will be available, with prices ranging from $2–$10 (with most items priced at $5). All Japan Shop profits go towards our Japan trip later this year.

A reminder that Japanese food lunch items, including sushi and gyoza, are also available to order via QKR.

We will begin the day with a whole-school assembly in the gym at 9:00 am, and families are warmly invited to attend.

We look forward to sharing this special day with our students and showing you what we get up to!
