Principal's Report

New Coordinator at BASE 1270

After a number of years working at Base 1270, first as an educator and then as the program coordinator, Casey Douglas is moving on.  Casey finishes with us later this week and we thank her for all she has done for us in the Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) space.

We are pleased to announce that the new Base 1270 coordinator will be Jeff Vinton.  Jeff has considerable experience in OSCH and been very successful in the role of coordinator and other programs.  We look forward to having Jeff onboard and he/she is looking forward to meeting students and families that access the Base 1270 service.

Congratulations Sam

Last Wednesday I had the pleasure of attending to Victorian school swimming carnival at MSAC (Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre) to watch our very own Sam Baker compete in the 11 year old 50 metre breaststroke.  Sam did an excellent job, and whilst not making it onto the dais, he acquitted himself very well, swimming a personal best and thoroughly enjoying the experience…well done Sam.

On a side note, whilst at MSAC, I couldn’t help but notice an enormous poster featuring Sam Rizzo, a past student who is doing an amazing job with wheelchair racing.  Sam was always determined and willing to give anything a try, so it’s not surprising to see him doing so well.

Book Fair

The Book Fair is an annual event that serves to promote reading and an appreciation for books, while raising valuable funds that go straight back into the library.  Obviously, this enables us to keep the library shelves stocked with books that our children will enjoy and engage with.

Well done to Kim who does a great job running a successful book fair every year and to all of our amazing parents who support this and other events.

School Tours on Offer

If you know of someone that is considering our school as an option for 2027, recommend they give the office a call and request a tour.  Our Grade 6 Transition Team members at Buninyong and school leaders at Scotsburn are doing a great job conducting tours and they are happy to accommodate all newcomers.

Cross Country

A big well done to all our students who took part in last week’s Cross Country.  Everyone did a great job and looked terrific in their house colours.
