Interhouse Cross Country
A big well done to all our students who took part in last week’s Cross Country! Our runners were all fired up and ready for their event and some terrific house colours were everywhere! Thank you for all the effort that went into preparing for this. Everyone did a terrific job, and whether they were out there to break records or to make their way around enjoying the scenery, it was great to see the positive and enthusiastic approach everyone had. The weather was also on our side this year.
A big thank you to all our school staff and adult volunteers who were incredible in making sure all the jobs were taken care of to make the event fun and safe for all our students. A special thanks to those volunteered their time and put in a little something special (balloons, music, cheering, etc) for the kids. We couldn’t run these types of events without the wonderful support we get from our whole community.
For those progressing through to Division Cross Country, there will be a Compass message going out to them shortly.
Well done again, everyone!
State Swimming:
Well done to Sam B on his participation in the State Swimming in Melbourne last Thursday. It was a terrific effort to get to this level and amazing opportunity to swim in one of the states best aquatic facilities.
Sam came up against some of the state’s best swimmers and did an amazing job, getting a new P.B. Well done to Sam!
Division Bowls
Last week our two Division Bowls teams took on schools from around Ballarat at Sebastopol Bowling Club. It was terrific day with plenty of good competition and fun had. Our students did an amazing job on and off the rinks and represented Buninyong Primary School amazingly. Our Buninyong Black team finished 5th, whilst our Buninyong Red Team finished 1st and will progress to Regional Bowls in September. Well done to all our bowlers.
A big thank you to the Buninyong Bowls Club for supporting us in another year of amazing bowls with you! Our students are so fortunate to have you! Thank you to Bec, who was our adult helper, for giving up her day to help us. Thank you to the supporters who popped in at various times throughout the day to cheer us all on.
Division Netball Tryouts
Division Netball tryouts are on this Wednesday, 29 April, at 11am. Grade 5+6’s are invited to come along with your P.E. shoes to tryout.
Umpires needed for AFL, Netball and Soccer
We are hoping there might be a few willing and able volunteers who would be able to help our teams out umpiring at the following Division sports. These can be competent secondary students or other adults.
- Soccer – 12 May, 2026
- AFL – 20 May, 2026
- Netball – 1 June, 2026
If you are able to assist us in anyway, can you please contact Claire Morris (claire.morris@education.vic.gov.au). Thank you in advance!
What to bring to P.E.
Just a reminder for all students to bring with them their P.E. shoes, drink bottle (and hats in Term 1+4) to their P.E. classes. A different pair of sports shoes need to be brought to P.E. as per the uniform policy. This allows us to keep safe, look after our gym and make the most of our lessons together. Thanks to everyone who continues to remember these.
