Although the cross country event was unfortunately washed out, it provided us with the perfect opportunity to come together across both campuses to celebrate National Simultaneous Story Time.

At our Burnie campus, students gathered in the Ark to enjoy Miss Goninon’s engaging reading of Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller. The story sparked wonderful discussions about perseverance and reminded us all that, no matter how small we may feel,

We are capable of achieving amazing things.

Meanwhile, at our Ulverstone campus, students assembled in the gym as the rain fell outside, where they were delighted to have Dr McNab read the story. It was a warm and memorable shared experience for all involved.

National Simultaneous Story Time is a fantastic initiative that celebrates the joy of reading, fosters a love of storytelling, and supports the development of literacy skills in a fun and meaningful way.

A wonderful time of connection, imagination, and learning, despite the weather!

KINDER 2027

As recently communicated to our Burnie parents, our Senior Leadership Team have been intensively focused on enrolment projections for Burnie Campus, due to the wonderful growth in enrolments that it has experienced.  As a result, there will only be one Kinder class at the Burnie campus next year to allow for growth in other areas. The Burnie 2027 Kinder class is now full - wait pool only.

At the Ulverstone Campus, if you haven't yet initiated the enrolment process for your child, we ask that you please do so as soon as possible to secure your child’s spot, and to assist our Principals in determining vacancies for Kinder 2027.  Kinder children need to have turned 4 by 1 January in the year of commencement. Siblings are not automatically enrolled and application forms are required for all students.  In order for current families to receive a link to the application form, please lodge an 'Enrolment Enquiry Form' on the school’s website: https://www.leighland.tas.edu.au/enquiries

If you are aware of any new families who are interested in enrolment at Leighland for next year please encourage them to complete the Enrolment Enquiry Form so that we can be in touch to organise a tour and information pack, or answer any questions they may have.

STUDENT MEDICAL RECORDS – PAM

A reminder to parents that you can keep the school up to date with any changes to your child/ren’s medical records by entering any new information into SIMON/PAM.  You can also add any new immunisations that may have been administered.  Once updated and submitted, a notification from SIMON is sent to Administration so that they are made aware of the changes, and they will follow up with you if required.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office, or email admin@leighland.tas.edu.au

UNIFORM – CLARIFICATION

We clarify that the girl’s black tailored trousers (as sold by Midford) also form part of our formal uniform and can be worn for all official events and school photos.

A reminder that the soft-shell jacket is an optional extra item for warmth; it does not replace the green cotton jumper which forms part of our formal uniform.

If you would like to provide feedback in regard to our uniform policy, we have a designated email address for this purpose: uniform@leighland.tas.edu.au
