Primary Burnie student Leaders

It has been a busy start to Term Two on Burnie Campus.

On 25 April, we (Quinn and Benji) went to the Burnie Anzac Day service and laid a wreath at the cenotaph. We were joined by some other students and parents who marched from the Burnie RSL to the Burnie Park. It was very interesting to hear Mr Baird talk about his son, Corporal Cameron Baird VC MG.

On 15 May, the Kinders had an open class where lots of parents came into the classrooms. To find out about the afternoon we interviewed a few students and asked them some questions.  Cleo said that she enjoyed doing a bracelet craft with her Mum. Luna said her favourite thing to do was having fun with playdough. Elsie said she played Duplo and shops with her Mum. Wesley’s Dad came in and played cars with him.

The Year 5/6’s had a big celebration when the cricket team won the Millard Shield at Ulverstone Campus.  The trophy is now back on the Burnie Campus. In PE we have been doing Cross Country practice, and we are looking forward to going to Ulverstone to run.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, Mrs Scheu and Mrs Polden took some of the mothers to a café called “Fleur by Forbidden Sweets”.

This week, some of the Year 6’s went to the Year 7 Information Night at Ulverstone Campus where we got to walk around the high school and learn about the classes and electives. We met some of the teachers and other staff; they were all really friendly and answered our questions.
