7/8 Outdoor Education
Students in 7/8 Outdoor Education spent the afternoon at the Ulverstone Pump Track. Students practiced balance, control, and perseverance as they tackled different sections of the track.
“Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). Students demonstrated this beautifully through their teamwork, kindness, and positive attitudes throughout the lesson.
Camp Clayton RYDA
A few weeks ago the Year 10's went to Camp Clayton for the annual Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) Day. This very worthwhile course looks at topics such as identifying crash factors, appreciating personal risk, developing personal strategies and approaching driving as a social responsibility. Thanks to Rotary for another successful year! 🚗
Design Process - STEM
Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students have been learning about the Design Process in STEM. One of their challenges was to design and create a fidget board. Firstly, they had to identify the problem and why a fidget board was needed, then they had to imagine and research. Next, they had to design their fidget board and identify the materials they wanted to use. Then they got to make their fidget boards and lastly, they evaluated them, identifying what they liked, and what they would change next time.
It was great to see the students following the design process, using their problem-solving skills and actively engaging in the STEM lesson.
They were engaged with the whole process and created some fantastic fidget boards!
