JOB SKILLS EXPO – 2026 National Careers Week Activity

On Thursday 14 May, Year 9/10 students of Leighland Christian School, Geneva College and Year 9 students of Devonport Christian School combined in the MP Hall (Ulv Campus) to participate in the 2026 Job Skills EXPO which was designed to engage students in a variety of work skills. It was amazing!!

Students were able to try seven skills on rotation throughout the day. These were provided by host industries who were invited to present a 30 minute information and hands on activity session on repeat. A “shout out” to the students across the schools who embraced the opportunity and engaged so well to try their hand and learn about industry expectations.

A huge THANK YOU to participating industries for providing activities contributing to the success of this event:

  • UCI (Carpentry & Joinery)

  • Degree C (Electrical),

  • Caterpillar (Engineering)

  • TasTAFE (Bakery)

  • UTAS (Soil testing, Nursing)
