ELLA MCHENRY
Class 3 has been busy working on the play Joseph the Dreamer, with performances starting this week.
We have two casts to cover for any illnesses and give students a chance to play more than one role. There are a variety of characters to get into – conniving, evil brothers, puzzled Pharaoh’s, slave traders and soldiers.
Happily, we have also been able to utilise the fabulous archive of tunics, headdresses and sundry props from previous plays at the school. In the early stages, reading the script as a group was a great way for strong readers to support their classmates reading aloud.
Learning lines is also a great way for students to extend their vocabulary and practise public speaking. And standing on stage as part of a chorus has been a great challenge for those who find it hard to stand still!
We are all looking forward to performing this Wednesday and Friday.
Regards,
Ella
