Dear Playgroup Families,

As we come to the final weeks of our year together, it has been lovely to reflect on the gentle theme that has carried us through this last term — rainbows. The children have been captivated by the colours, songs, and stories woven through our mornings, bringing light, imagination, and beauty to our playgroup rhythm.

We ended our story telling year with The Rainbow Horse story, the longest and most detailed tale we have shared with the children. It was remarkable to witness how confidently and patiently they listened — a reflection of how much they have grown over the course of the year. Through the steady rhythm of our mornings, the children have developed a deep sense of trust, calm, and engagement, allowing them to sit with a longer story, follow its unfolding, and hold its images so beautifully in their imaginations.

As we prepare to close the year, we warmly invite all families to join us for our end-of-year festival. Each group will celebrate on its regular day during the week of December 1–5, with the exception of the Monday group, which will finish on December 8 to make up for public holiday closures. Families are invited to bring a small healthy plate to share for morning tea as we gather in gratitude for the year that has unfolded.

You will also have received a note asking for your intentions for 2026 — whether your family will be returning to playgroup, moving on, or hoping to change days. Please return this form to the office or your facilitator before the end of term so we can plan thoughtfully for the year ahead.

As the year draws to a close, we hold deep appreciation for your children’s growth and for the sense of warmth and connection shared in our playgroup community. In Steiner Early Childhood Education, these early years are nourished through rhythm, imitation, simplicity, and wonder — and it has been a privilege to witness your little ones develop in all of these ways throughout the seasons.

Thank you for sharing your mornings with us. We wish you all a peaceful and joy-filled summer and look forward to welcoming many of you again next year.
