'Family Superpowers' with Bron Grieve

Thank you to everyone who attended the "Family Superpowers" session with Bron Grieve on Wednesday.

Bron talked about the following:

  • Listen to understand, not to respond
  • Work with what you have, not what you want
  • Recognise everyone's individual superpowers
  • Help your young person build a strong relationship with themselves first
  • Emotions: what lies beneath and where is your emotional thermometer at?
  • Be curious, not furious
  • How do you be your child's light house?
  • Recognise and treat screens as a relationship

I know there were a number of families who were unable to attend due to illness and work. We hope to run the session again next term. The session will be open to parents, caregivers and students of all year levels.

Any questions please email sarah.white@smcastlemaine.catholic.edu.au

RUOK? Day

Thursday 10th September the whole school will take part in activities for RUOK? Day.

Students are invited to add a splash of yellow to their uniform on Thursday. This might look like a ribbon, shoes, a t shirt or socks.

In the afternoon we will gather together in the library for activities run by the Wellbeing leaders and some afternoon tea.
