Music

Our younger students have been incredibly creative and engaged in making beautiful music with improvisation.  We read 'The Magic Hat' by Mem Fox during bookweek and used our own magic hats to transform ourselves into whichever animal we wanted. I loved hearing the individual choices and the improvisations. I heard a horse, bunny, lion, shark, cat, dragon, elephant, mouse... ask your musician what the magic hat turned them into! 

This week we became birds in a nest and used the Glockenspiels to show what kind of birds we were. We were big and small, colourful and brown (there were a few eagles!), strong or small and darting. Then the beautiful sun was shining beautifully so we took our instruments outside and made birdsong with the birds in yard. There have been some spotted Pardalotes down near the rotunda recently, I hope they enjoyed our music. 

Our Senior students are getting close to finishing up their digital compositions. They have carefully crafted their rhythms, melodies, textures and timbres. Next week we will complete them with the finishing touches and then they will be ready to take home for you to admire and enjoy.
