Settling into the New School Year

What a wonderful start we have had to the year in Year 3/4!

It has been lovely seeing students reconnect, build new friendships and settle so smoothly into our classroom routines.  Throughout the first week, we focused on wellbeing, our school values and establishing clear classroom expectations. Students shared thoughtful ideas about what respect, responsibility and resilience look like in action, and together we created a safe, supportive learning environment where everyone feels valued.

We also participated in an engaging First Aid incursion where students learned the steps of DRABCD and discussed how to respond in an emergency. They now confidently know that in Australia we call 000 if urgent help is needed. The session was hands-on, empowering and full of excellent questions.

In Mathematics, we began revising place value and counting, exploring how numbers are built and represented. In Literacy, we have been learning about nouns and how they add clarity to our writing. We have also started reading Kensuke's Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo, and students are already captivated by the adventure.

It has been a calm, positive and purposeful beginning to the term, and we are very proud of the way students have embraced their learning.
