It has been a vibrant and productive time across Arts and Technologies, with students embracing opportunities to think critically, create confidently and demonstrate courage through their learning and achievements.
Last week, our Year 9 Drama students took to the stage, showcasing their creativity, collaboration and courage through their performance of Talking to Brick Walls, written by Claire Christian. The production was a testament to the talent, dedication and passion for the performing arts demonstrated by both our students and staff. Thank you to Maria Conway for creating these wonderful opportunities for our students, supported by Maddie Coyne.
Our annual Art Show 'Arti' was another highlight, celebrating the diverse talents, creativity and learning of our students across the Arts and Technologies. Special thanks to Skubi Testa, Sharon O'Leary, Justine Hawkins and Pauline Daniell for their energy and commitment in delivering such a spectacular event.

We also congratulate Abby, Maddie, Mirella and Josie on their recognition at the CGen Awards, with special congratulations to Maddie, who received a Commendation. Finally, thank you to Samantha Jensen and Simone Roche for their support of staff and students throughout these events.

Behind the scenes, our Year 12 teachers have been working tirelessly to prepare students for their upcoming external examinations, while our Year 11 students are focused on completing their IA1 assessments.

Across our junior Arts and Technologies classrooms, students continue to engage in rich learning experiences that encourage them to experiment, problem-solve and explore new ideas. These opportunities foster critical and creative thinking, build confidence and empower students to bring their ideas to life.
In Music, Year 8 students have been exploring how different genres and styles communicate stories, emotions and meaning through their unit, And So the Story Goes. They have recently commenced their final assessment task, composing a mini protest song that highlights contemporary issues using the music software programs MuseScore and Soundtrap.
Year 9 Music students have been investigating how covers of original songs provide musicians with opportunities to reshape meaning, stories and perspectives. Through the analysis and performance of acoustic, rock and Indigenous-influenced covers, students have developed an understanding of musical interpretation and are now completing a jazz arrangement or composition as their final task for the year.
Our Year 10 Design students were challenged to apply the principles of Human-Centred Design to reimagine the bus stop on Turner Road, in front of Padua College, for the Little Flower schools and wider community. Students demonstrated empathy and innovation as they considered the needs of users, developed design concepts and constructed prototypes that responded to real-world challenges.
In Food and Nutrition, Year 9 Food Technology and Year 10 Food and Nutrition students have been investigating sustainability and exploring practical ways to reduce food waste. Through this work, students are developing a deeper understanding of responsible food choices and the impact these decisions can have on both local and global communities.
As we move towards the end of the year, we are proud of the creativity, courage and commitment our students continue to demonstrate across Arts and Technologies. Their willingness to embrace challenges, think innovatively and share their learning reflects the vibrant culture of our faculty and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
