This fortnight in SRC, we have been focusing on a project for school improvement. All eight of us thought of different ways to improve our school. We then set our sights on one topic: sustaining and taking care of our sports materials in the yard.
We brainstormed specific ideas to help us with our project. We did this by using two Thinking Routines from the Harvard Education Zero Project: See Think Wonder and Compass Points.
See Think Wonder: This enabled us to think about the broader picture of our sport material use in the school.
Compass Points: This enabled us to dive deep into the project proposal, before actually getting started. We wrote what we were excited about for this project if we were to implement an action, what was worrisome for us, what we would need to know and find more information about before beginning, as well as how we need to act moving forward.
We’re excited about the idea of all of this, particularly in the methodical approach that we are taking.
If you have any ideas, please feel free to reach out to any of the SRC members, and we will take it to our next meeting!
Thank you,
Vice Captains
