In Curiosity, we have been exploring our big question: “How can I contribute as a classmate?” Students have been learning that kindness and respecting others help us create a positive classroom community. Through the Feelings book series, we investigated the emotions happy, angry, and sad, and discussed how situations and clues can help us identify how someone is feeling. Students shared their own experiences, created drawings to represent different emotions, and learned about the Zones of Regulation to understand how feelings can guide our behaviour. We also talked about how including others allows us to play and learn as a team, and how simple strategies, like naming our feelings or asking for help. This supports us when challenges arise. Our aim is for every student to recognise their own emotions, understand the feelings of others, and contribute positively to our classroom community.
