Spring Carnival
On Friday, 5th September under the beautiful Spring sunshine students and staff enjoyed dressing up and cheering on their House at Mater Dei's Spring Carnival. Students paraded faux suits and dresses during the recess fashions on the fields, with best dressed prizes awarded in a variety of categories! During lunch Year 12 Jockeys and their trainers participated in the race that stops the College in the Garcia-Cala Cup and Devries Plate races. House jockeys were quick to navigate through the obstacles, but in the end it was Webber's 4th Times a Charm and Kennedy's Blue Thunder Goldeneye and Rosarie’s Rosie for their respective wins.
Year 12 Staff versus Students
The annual Staff verses Student games took place on the Courts last week and what a competition it was! Staff took the championship lead after the Netball round winning 11 - 1. The next challenge was the" make or break" game of volleyball. Students showed up en masse and delivered a game that had spectators on the edge of their seats, and after a long battle that could have gone either way, the "dig and spike" skills of staff prevailed. With the Championship sewn up it was pride on the line for Year 12 who managed to take the win in dodgeball. Well done to all staff and Year 12 students who participated.
Year 12 Games Night
It was a fun night at the College for Year 12 Games Night. Lots of great costumes were paraded in the Hall and the mix of trivia and games showed off some fantastic endurance skills, plenty of laughs and overall, everyone was a winner. Thank you to staff who helped on the night, and thank you Year 12 for a fun night.
