HOUSE SPIRIT DAY

On Thursday the 27th of June, we have our Gurborra House Spirit Day.

It will be ‘Wear it Yellow’ Day, where students are encouraged to wear the colour yellow to raise funds for the First Nations organisation, Children’s Ground.

With our senior school students only recently returning from the Yipirinya School in Alice Springs, they feel a strong connection to supporting young Indigenous children’s lives.

As part of our ‘Wear It Yellow Day’, students will engage with NAIDOC Week learning materials and have vibrant discussions about First Nations culture and history.

These activities will include a Smoking Ceremony, at 11:20 in the undercroft area.

All parents are welcome to attend from 11:20 until the end of the ceremony.

The day will be run by the Gurborra Spirit and House Captains, but it is for all students of all Houses to be involved in.

There will be a bake sale for students to buy a treat and help raise funds for Children's Ground.

Every child who wears something yellow to school is asked to bring a gold coin donation. Additionally, if you would like to donate to our school's 'Wear it Yellow' page, please scan the QR code in the flyer to help us reach our goal.

Please see the flyer below for more information.
