LEAD

Over the course of Monday and Tuesday, we immersed ourselves in the City Experience orientation. Students were provided with the opportunity to not only explore the city, but truly live in it. From developing new, nuanced perspectives at the Big Issue presentation to witnessing art that transcended time at the NGV and roaming the halls of the State Library in quiet awe, each moment was an adventure in itself. These days were more than just preparation for our upcoming projects in October, they gave us a taste of independence, forged trust with our teachers and memories that will remain long after the train ride home.

Last week on Monday and Tuesday we had LEAD City experience and it was fun! We got to explore places such as the state library the NGV and ACMI and it was all really cool - my personal favourite was ACMI. It was really fun being able to navigate your way not just around the city, but from home to the train station to the city.

Our first city experience was an amazing 2 days for us to explore the city with independence and freedom that we all really appreciated. I enjoyed the mix of activities such as discovering the Queen Vic Markets and the Shrine, while also adventuring into some unexplored corners of Melbourne. I really valued the chance to learn about the Big Issue and its impact on homelessness, as well as spending time with friends. We can`t wait until October when we’ll get to take even more independence and investigate our personal interests in the exciting city.

LEAD was a really fun and enlighten experience, making me more comfortable with the city and knowing where to go and what to do. I had a great time and am looking forward to the next one.
