AUSSIE OF THE MONTH
Congratulations to Meike M (3Q), our Aussie of the Month recipient for July. Meike consistently demonstrates our school values of kindness, respect, integrity and excellence, approaching every opportunity with enthusiasm while showing care and inclusion towards others. Her efforts to raise money for the local RSL through the sale of homemade ANZAC biscuits reflect her commitment to making a positive difference in our community.
SENIOR HOOPTIME
This week, our Year 5/6 students represented POPS at the Hoop Time Basketball competition, displaying fantastic teamwork, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Congratulations to our Year 5/6 All Star Girls team, who were crowned Grand Final winners! A big thank you to Mrs Carbone and Ms Grigg for organising the teams and supporting our students throughout the competition.
ATHLETICS DAY
Congratulations to Mrs Carbone for organising our House Athletics Carnival, which was a fantastic success despite the challenging weather conditions. A special thank you to our Community House Captains and staff who helped make the day run smoothly. Congratulations to all students who participated with enthusiasm, resilience and great sportsmanship, and best of luck to those who have qualified for the District Athletics Carnival.

HELPING OUT AT SCHOOL
We are incredibly grateful to the parents and carers who volunteer their time to support our students and school events. Whether coaching, scoring, helping at carnivals or assisting in other ways, your contribution plays an important role in creating meaningful opportunities for our students.
Volunteering at school not only supports our programs and events, but also helps strengthen the connection between families, students and the wider school community. When children see their families involved in school life, it reinforces the importance of belonging, teamwork and learning. Thank you for being such an important part of our POPS community.

Book Week is Coming!
The 2026 Children's Book Week theme is 'Symphony of Stories'.
On Monday 24th August, we will kick off Book Week with our Book Character Dress-Up Day. Students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character, and we will hold a whole-school parade at 9:15 am. You might like to decorate a hat or T-shirt, or use items you already have at home to create a costume representing your favourite book character.
Our annual Book Fair will also be held during Book Week. Students will have the opportunity to browse the books on Friday 21st August or Monday 24th August, when they can complete a Wish List of books they would like to purchase.
The Book Fair will be open in the Library on Tuesday 25th August after school from 3:40 pm. Cash and EFTPOS will be available.
If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Grigg at sarah.grigg@education.vic.gov.au or Yurong Chen at yurong.chen@education.vic.gov.au.
We look forward to seeing everyone's wonderful costumes, celebrating Book Week together, and discovering some exciting new books!
