Following on from the success of last month’s Books and Brownies, our next session will take place on Tuesday, 24th June in the CUBE during lunch. The sign-up sheet will be available from next week. Bring along your current reading and be prepared to talk about what makes you want to read a particular book? Is it the cover, the blurb, a friend's recommendation? Looking forward to discussing this with you. As usual there will be a range of new books available for you to have first chance at borrowing. See you there.
This year’s Reading Challenge has been going very well. As you can see, Yarra has taken the lead by the narrowest of margins. We have a long way to go and any house could win the Reader’s Cup and the chance to celebrate with a Pizza Lunch. This is open to all students in Years 7 – 9 but it’s important to note, that only students who have entered by logging their reading in the points jar will be eligible to attend if their house wins.
Log your reading and be in it to win it! Who will win the Reader’s Cup?
The library has had for some time, a secure charging station available for students who have misplaced/lost/left their computer chargers at home. We have now also added to the tables along the windows near L1, a bank of computer chargers that enable students to charge while they have classes in the library, and for use during recess and lunch. The chargers are secured and can’t be removed as they are there for students while they are in the library. It would also be advisable not to walk away and leave computers charging at this bank unattended. The lockable station is still available near the library desk, for those who need to charge while in another location.
