Stage 3 Leadership Commissioning Assembly

Last Thursday our Year 5 and 6 school community, along with the families of our new Student Leaders, gathered to celebrate an important milestone for our Year 6 students – the Year 6 Leadership Commissioning Assembly. This special occasion recognised the students who have stepped forward to serve as leaders within our school community in the year ahead.

The assembly was a meaningful moment of reflection and commitment, highlighting that leadership at our school is not simply about titles or badges, but about service, responsibility and living out the values of our Catholic faith.

Several members of staff addressed the students and families in attendance, each offering valuable insights into the meaning of leadership. Ms Santiago, Head of Student Leadership and Mr Morris, Year 6 Coordinator, were part of the badge giving. The assembly also heard from Mr Byrne, Deputy Principal, who spoke about the importance of leadership grounded in faith and community. He reminded students that true leadership involves humility and service, echoing the example set by Christ. Students were encouraged to approach their roles with a spirit of generosity and a commitment to supporting those around them.

A highlight of the assembly was a special address from our new School Captain, Maroun A who spoke confidently and thoughtfully about what leadership means to him. Drawing inspiration from his Catholic faith, Maroun reflected on the responsibility that comes with leadership and the importance of standing up for what is right. He shared his leadership promise, outlining his commitment to serving the school community and working alongside his fellow peers to create a positive and welcoming environment for all students. His message resonated strongly with the audience and set a positive tone for the year ahead.

As our Year 6 leaders begin their journey, we look forward to seeing them grow into their roles and continue to demonstrate the values that define our school. We congratulate all our Year 6 leaders and wish them every success as they lead with faith, service, and pride in the year ahead.
