Captains Corner

By Sam

The Captain’s Corner section provides an opportunity for our School Captains to share some information or news about our school, below is a piece from Sam:

Good morning/afternoon everyone, my name is Sam and I am one of your 2026 school vice captains.

I’ve been really impressed by how everyone is getting into their learning and showing a positive attitude at school.

Just a quick heads up that we have cross country on the last day of school (Thursday, April 2nd.) This event will be for the Years 4, 5 and 6’s and it will last for the first 2 sessions. It looks to be a bright, sunny day, perfect for running.

I’d like to congratulate all the Year 4, 5 and 6 students who participated in the soccer gala. Lots of our teams came first or runners up, which is amazing. It was clear everyone had a day full of energy and excitement, but what stood out the most was that there was great sportsmanship and enthusiasm, once again well done to all of you that took part in it!

Our school’s coin race and student voice box competition is also coming up, so make sure you get involved. Stay tuned for it! Although the student voice box entries haven’t finished yet, so far, all the boxes have been outstanding!

We are also proud to be running Cultural Diversity Week, which is a great chance to learn about different cultures. Students are encouraged to wear cultural outfits or wear the colours of their flag, the week will be packed with opportunities and activities to celebrate other cultures.

Another thing that is taking place across our school is our buddies program! Each student will be paired with another one from a different grade, because we are celebrating Cultural Diversity Week, buddies will be sharing their special home learning to each other and will get to learn about other countries, cultures, religions and more!

Just a quick reminder to bring your hat and water bottle every day, and to keep making sensible choices at school. Let’s all keep our school a safe and respectful place.

The school term is coming to an end, and I’d like to wish everyone a well-deserved term holiday. It’s a great time to have fun and spend time family with family, happy holidays to everyone and congratulations on a fabulous first term!

Thank you for your time,

Sam,

2026 School Vice Captain
