Admin Corner

By Wendy Wallace

Hi my name is Wendy, a new member of our admin team.

My journey within the school has been one of the unexpected turns, growth, and trust in a greater plan. I began my career in administration, but overtime realised it wasn’t where my passion truly lay. Taking a leap of faith, I stepped away from that role and retrained as a Learning Assistant, a position I grew to love over the next 5 years.

During that time, I often told myself that I would never return to administration. However, life has a way of surprising us. When an unexpected opportunity arose to step back into an administrative role, I chose to embrace it with a growth mindset. I reminded myself to ‘never say never’ and trust that God’s plan is greater than my own.

To my surprise, I have found genuine joy and fulfilment in this new chapter. It has been a reminder that sometimes the paths we had once resisted can be the ones that take us where we want to be.

I am also proud of my cultural heritage. As a fourth generation, Chinese descendant, my great grandparents migrate from China to both Malaysia and Singapore, and I have now called Australia home for over 25 years. This diverse background is something I deeply value and I enjoy bringing it into our school community, especially during our Cultural Diversity week, where we celebrate the richness of different cultures together.

I am grateful for the journey so far, and look forward to continuing to grow, serve and contribute to our wonderful school community.

It is a wonderful time to celebrate and learn from the many cultures that make our school community vibrant and unique. I wish you a Happy Cultural Diversity Week!
