Hospitality
Open Doors, Open Hearts, Open Minds
This year, inspired by the Kildare Ministries value of Hospitality, we as a College anchor our learning and service to the theme: Open Doors, Open Hearts, Open Minds.
This theme was created in collaboration with both our student and staff leaders.
The theme encourages us to create a community where everyone feels valued, included, and supported. Hospitality is more than just a warm welcome, it’s about the way we care for one another, the kindness we show in daily interactions, and the way we work together to shape a future built on compassion and unity.
This commitment to hospitality is deeply connected to the Living Justice, Living Peace Charter, which calls us to invite all, seek change, and walk in solidarity. True hospitality means ensuring that everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, feels a sense of belonging. It challenges us to welcome the stranger, listen with open hearts, and build a just and peaceful community where all can thrive.
Our students have already begun reflecting on what hospitality means to them. Some see it as creating a safe and welcoming space, where even the smallest acts of kindness can have a lasting impact. Others describe it as putting others before yourself, treating everyone with respect, and working together to support those in need.
Above all, hospitality is about building a culture of inclusion and hope. As we step into this year, let us take up this challenge with open hearts, ensuring that St Joseph’s College is a place where all are truly welcome. By embracing this call, we not only build a stronger community but also live out our mission to be people of strength and kindliness.

Shared Liturgy
As is our College's long held tradition, we gathered with St Mary's Primary School as a faith community in prayer prior to the commencement of the school year. Our combined Liturgy focused on unity in delivering faith-based education to our community, highlighting our shared purpose. St Joseph's College was proud to host St Mary's and welcome Catholic educators to our College while also launching our 2025 theme of hospitality.
