Junior School Athletics - Balaclava District Carnival

Despite the wet and windy weather, 61 students from Years 3 to 6 proudly represented Kilvington at the Balaclava District Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 27 August. Leading up to the event, students committed to regular training sessions, showing fantastic determination, teamwork and school spirit.

We are incredibly proud of all our athletes for their effort and enthusiasm on the day. A huge congratulations to the five students who have now qualified for the Division Finals next term:

  • Mia Nation – 1st, 1500m (12–13 Years)
  • Maisie Lewicki – 1st, High Jump, 2nd in Discus (12–13 Years)
  • Millie Simpson – 1st, Shot Put (12–13 Years)
  • Louis Allen – 2nd, Triple Jump (11 yrs)
  • Thomas Volpe – 1st, 100m and 200m (9–10 Years)

 

These students will go on to represent the Balaclava District at the next level of competition - an amazing achievement!

We also had some fantastic additional results: 

  • Ralph Hopkins, Thomas Volpe, Will Turner and Grayson Williams - 3rd, Years 9–10 Boys Relay Team 
  • Will Turner - 3rd, Discus (9-10 yrs) 
  • Grayson Williams - 3rd, Long Jump (9-10 yrs) 
  • Luca Charalambous - 2nd and 3rd place, 100m and 200m heats (12-13yrs)

 

A massive thank you to all our wonderful staff and coaches for their incredible work in preparing and supporting our students. From training sessions to organisation on the day, your dedication made it all possible.

A fortnight of EISM Grand Finals

Over the past two weeks, our students have achieved fantastic results across a number of sports, showcasing their talent, teamwork and determination.

YEARS 8 AND 9 SPORT 

What an incredible effort – we've had six EISM Grand Final appearances from a very sporty cohort who continue to work hard and represent Kilvington with pride.

 

  • Girls Indoor Soccer: Won 5 – 4 in a thrilling match
  • Girls AFL: Lost 28 – 48
  • Boys Volleyball A: Lost 3 – 0
  • Boys Volleyball C: Lost 3 – 1
  • Girls Volleyball B: Lost 3 – 0
  • Girls Volleyball C: Lost 3 – 0

SENIOR SPORT 

Two more Grand Finals capped off a wonderful season for our senior students:

  • Girls Volleyball B: Won 3–1
  • Boys Volleyball B: Lost 3–0

Congratulations to all students for a fantastic season. A special mention goes to our Year 12s who played their final matches for Kilvington – thank you for your commitment, leadership and contribution to school sport over the years.

 

With trials already underway, our Years 8 and 9 teams are now looking forward to Season 3 and the opportunities ahead.
