2025 Australian National Cross Country Championships

Willow Devine, Year 10, proudly represented Victoria at the 2025 Australian National Cross Country Championships in Ballarat over the weekend. Competing in the Under 17 Girls 4km race, she delivered an outstanding performance to place 10th nationally against the strongest distance runners in the country. 

 

She was also the second Victorian athlete across the line, with her result contributing directly to help secure a team bronze medal for Victoria. Well done, Willow! 

Monash Youth Music Festival - Piano performance

Congratulations to Ethan Xi, Year 3, on his outstanding achievement at the Monash Youth Music Festival, where he won first prize for his impressive piano performance. Well done, Ethan! Your dedication and talent are truly commendable.

Paul McDermott Violin Scholarship 

Congratulations to Ryan Lu, Year 5, who has been named the final winner of the 2025 AUSTA Paul McDermott Violin Scholarship (15 and Under).

 

In addition, Ryan has achieved numerous prizes in the string category across major Eisteddfods this year, including 1st Prizes at Ringwood (14 and Under) and Monash (10 and Under) and the Grand Final 3rd Prize at Boroondara (12 and Under). Well done, Ryan!

2025 Melbourne Conservatorium Chamber Music Academy Program

Henry Hu, Year 11, has been admitted to the 2025 Melbourne Conservatorium Chamber Music Academy Program. 

 

The panel were particularly impressed by Henry's musical talent and passion, and decided to offer Henry a place in a Piano Trio, which will perform on Sunday, November 23 at the Louise Hanson Dyer Hall, Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Congratulations, Henry, on being selected for this fantastic opportunity.

Boroondara Eisteddfod Performance

Congratulations to Roderic Willim, Year 11, who performed Spain by Chick Corea arr. Jacob Koller and Fantasie Impromptu by Frederic Chopin at the Boroondara Eisteddfod in the Open Section. 

 

There were 80 competitors in the section and Roderic received an Honourable Mention. The adjudicator also commented favourably on his depth of expression. What a fantastic achievement!
