School Open Day - Thank you
A huge thanks to our amazing student representatives and tour guides for their outstanding efforts at our Open Day held on Thursday this week.
You represented Kilvington with pride, warmth and enthusiasm, and our whole community is so proud of the way you showcased everything our school has to offer to families.
We’re already looking forward to welcoming even more families at our Twilight Open Day on Thursday 16 October - see you then!
100 Days of Prep
Maddison Staude, Prep Classroom Teacher
Our 100 Days of Prep celebration this year was a day we won't soon forget. To mark this special milestone, the students and teachers all dressed up as if we were 100 years old. It was a delight to see the Prep rooms filled with grey wigs, walking canes, and an incredible sense of fun and excitement from everyone.
The morning began with a memorable parade on The Green. We were thrilled to see so many parents, grandparents, and our wonderful Year 6 buddies join us for what was truly a very, very slow lap of the school.
Afterward, the students received their cuddly teddy bears to commemorate their 100 days of school. They then coloured and created their very own crowns, which they wore for the rest of the day.
In the afternoon, we had a special surprise planned: a spontaneous disco party just for them! The room lit up with glow-in-the-dark sticks, energetic music from DJ Ms Neale, and special appearances from Mr French and their Year 6 buddies.
The students demonstrated a huge variety of dance moves, showcasing their energy and pure joy. By the end of the day, everyone was thoroughly exhausted and feeling a little closer to 100 years old than six!
Preppies answer – ‘What was your favourite thing from 100 Days of Prep?
- Elijah: The disco party was my favourite thing from 100 Days of Prep. I got to dance with May and with Mr French. We got to hug our teddies.
- Ethan: The disco - because dancing is my favourite and we had fun. I had a walking stick.
- Alissa: I thought we were so old. We were so funny. I didn't even recognise anyone. I liked the teddies we got, and I made a bedside table and lamp for it.
- Ada: The disco. When I was dancing with Vesna and when we lined up next to the DJ. The teddies we got were soft and cute.
- Willow: At 100 Days of Prep my favourite thing was when we got to walk down the path and our Mums and Dads took photos of us.
- Evelyn: My favourite thing was when we go to do our 100 days hat.
- Tahlia: My favourite things from 100 Days of Prep was when we got glow sticks for our arms, a dance party, and Ethan did the DJ-ing.
- Emily A: My favourite part was when our buddies made the big dance circle and sang to Golden.
- Will: My favourite part was getting the glow sticks and making them into rings and necklaces and dancing.
- Hai An: My favourite part was the party!
Book Week Parade
On the morning of August 19, our Junior School came alive with colour, characters and creativity as we celebrated Book Week 2025 with our much-loved Book Week Parade!
In line with this year’s national theme, Book an Adventure, students (and staff!) brought stories to life, while families cheered them on in what was truly a massive celebration of reading, imagination and community.
A huge thank you to our incredible Library Team whose hard work and passion made the entire week of Book Week activities a wonderful success.
