NEVR Youth Concert – Legends & Lore at Hamer Hall

Our hard-working music students have wow-ed Melbourne with a spectacular performance at Hamer Hall! 

As part of the NEVR Youth Concert, our students collaborated with other schools in the region to form a number of larger ensembles. This involved a lot of dedication from the students (and their parents and teachers!) as it meant extra rehearsals and catching up on a few missed classes, but the experience of performing on the same stage as the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (not to mention acts from around the world) was no doubt an achievement that they'll carry forward the rest of their lives.

The theme for the event was Legends and Lore, so the songs performed were all highly thematic, covering popular and traditional mythology. Particular congratulations to Christopher P. who performed Mefisto Waltz No. 7 by Liszt to thunderous applause as the piano soloist for the night. 

Big thanks to all of the instrumental music teachers who helped out at rehearsals and getting students to and from the soundcheck!
