Excellence in Sport - Basketball Program
Throughout Term 1, the Basketball Program has continued to grow with strong student engagement across all year levels. Weekly training sessions have focused on skill development, teamwork, and game understanding, with students showing consistent improvement and commitment.
Students competed in the Basketball Victoria 3x3 tournaments, where teams represented the College strongly and performed well across all divisions. The program achieved a highlight result by reaching the semi-finals for our intermediate teams, before narrowly falling short of progressing further. These events provided valuable competitive experience and supported ongoing player development.
Looking ahead, there are several key opportunities for the program. This term, students will take part in an intensive training camp with Keilor Basketball, designed to provide high-level coaching, focused skill development, and structured training environments to further enhance performance. We will also compete in the Victorian Secondary Schools Challenge (VSSC) through Basketball Victoria, providing another strong competitive pathway for our student-athletes. In Term 3, students will participate in the SSV competitions, continuing their involvement in interschool sport at a regional and state level.
Overall, the program is tracking positively, with strong participation, development, and upcoming opportunities that continue to support student growth both on and off the court.

Tremendous effort from both our Intermediate and Senior Girls Softball teams who represented Copperfield College at the Western Metro competition in Corio! Everyone displayed terrific sportsmanship and gave 100% throughout all games - couldn't ask for much more. A special mention to our Senior Girls Softball team who finished the day in second place and qualified for the STATE SOFTBALL FINALS to be held on the 21st of May - Amazing achievement.
