Kings Park Campus
Principal Message
What a busy start to the term it has and promises to be, and it is pleasing that we have continued our focus on having calm, respectful and student-centred learning environments on Campus. This is important as our students commence preparations for their Semester One examinations which are in June.
Towards the end of Term 1, our Year 7 students participated in Iron Form Day. This Day, and the lead-up, provides students with multiple opportunities to work together has a class group (Home Group) to compete with other class groups. These opportunities included a class motto, mascot, song and dance. It was a fantastic day enjoyed by all students and attending staff.

Our Year 7 students from both the Kings Park and Sydenham campuses attended a combined camp (as part of our transition process), which was held at Portsea for the first time. There were many adventure activities each day which challenged each student to be ‘out-of-their comfort zone’ and to work collectively to achieve a goal, while having fun at the same time.

In the first week of Term 2 we held our whole College Athletics Day where all students from Year 7 to 12 participated. It was a day of students trying their best, cheering peers and dressing in their Team colours. Each student gained points for their individual Teams. Teams from the Kings Park Campus finished third and fourth (1st, E and B Team; 2nd, H and K Team; 3, D and T ; 4th, L and C Team).

We have established a connection, through our Robotics Program, with Brimbank Tec School (Victoria University). The purpose of the Brimbank Tec School is to ignite curiosity, engagement, and collaboration through an industry-driven curriculum and hands-on exploration of advanced technologies. We had a visit from a humanoid (advanced robot) which generated significant student and staff interest. The robot was particularly good at giving a ‘high five’!

As part of our transition process, we visited Kororoit Creek Primary School to speak at a whole school assembly which was streamed live to families. Dr Gruis, Jasmine (Campus Captain) and Xander (Year 7 Scholarship Holder, from Kororoit Primary School) spoke specifically about our College Scholarship Program. The Program comprises of two-year scholarships valued at $4,500 in five fields:

A reminder that at the Kings Park Campus we provide a cooked Breakfast Club from 8am each morning, which all students are invited to attend. We also have a variety of fruit available during scheduled break times in Team Offices which students can access.

We continue to speak with all students about;
Our high expectations in relation to student learning and behaviour in the classroom and yard.
Student attendance is everyone's responsibility.
Building POSITIVE and RESPECTFUL relationships and connectedness within the school community.
