Principal Message 

Sydenham Campus Term 2, May 2026

Welcome all students, staff and families to Term 2. It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and focus displayed by students as they continue in their semester 1 studies. This term, students will be preparing for end of semester exams, and we encourage all students to act on the feedback they received at the Family/Student/Teacher interviews at the end of Term1.

In the last week of Term 1 we celebrated the achievements of students at our end of term assembly. 

We thank Tyrell Kearns-Mcleod & Ja’nayah Kearns-Mcleod (Wiradjuri) for their acknowledgement of country, which began our assembly.

Thank you also to the following students who presented campus reports; Sophia Alvarado (Sports), Evan Morgan (Basketball Program), Chloe Potschin & Maria Axiotis (Challenge Day), Sara Gulapala & Ayken Cannolo (Year 7 Portsea Camp), Ryan Elliott & Gabriel De Leon (Performing Arts), Addison Cooke (SRC & Leadership), Julia Portelli & Haider Imran (Campus Captains), and to the students who performed Beaches by Beebadoobee, Aeryn, Chloe, Alyanna, Sian and Roshni, and A kind of Magic by Queen, Julia, Lachlan, Jaidyn, Isabella, Issac and Ryan.

The assembly also marked the official end to the Year 7 Transition to Copperfield with the announcement of the Iron Form Daywinners…7E 1.

All Year 7 students worked over several weeks to finalise their posters, mascots, dance and motto.

Thank you to the Year 7 Connect Teachers for their leadership, support and the right mix of collaboration and competition! 

This term we farewelled Mr Vinod Chaudhary from the College. Mr Chaudhary has taken up a new position in a remote community in Queensland. We thank Mr Chaudhary for his work and contribution to the Copperfield College community during his time at the school. 

We also welcomed Mr Nicholas McKay to the Sydenham Campus. Mr McKay is in K Team. We look forward to Mr McKay’s contribution to our College.

Year 9 B Team Shine in Challenge Day Elections Project

The Year 9 B Team recently participated in the Challenge Day Elections Project and should be commended for their outstanding effort, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout the event.

Students worked collaboratively to develop campaign ideas, prepare speeches, and present their solutions/policies with confidence and creativity. Their presentations demonstrated excellent communication skills, strong preparation, and a clear understanding of the democratic process.

Throughout the project, students displayed remarkable dedication and supported one another as effective team members. The level of enthusiasm shown during campaign preparation and public speaking activities was highly impressive and contributed to the success of the day.

Congratulations to all Year 9 B Team students for representing the school with pride and for embracing the Challenge Day experience with such positivity and professionalism.

Thank you to Mr Singh for his continued leadership of the Challenge Day program at the Sydenham campus.
