Saffron Recognised for Surf Lifesaving Achievement

Congratulations to Year 10 student Saffron M, who was recently recognised at the Mentone Life Saving Club senior presentation evening, receiving the Most Outstanding Bronze Medallion award. This recognition reflects Saffron’s dedication to surf lifesaving, patrol service and advanced training. We are incredibly proud of her achievement and contribution to the community.

Jethro Releases Original Music

Congratulations to Year 10 student Jethro W, who has just released his new single Heartbreak Highway, with B-side Teenage Guitar Man, both original compositions. His new 45 record features Jethro on lead vocals and guitar, with cover art by Josh Angle.

Jethro began playing guitar at age 11 and has recently returned from a tour of Japan. His music style is heavily influenced by 1940s and 1950s rockabilly, blending country rock with rhythm and blues.

We congratulate Jethro on this exciting achievement and look forward to following his musical journey. Jethro’s music is available on Spotify, and the vinyl record can also be purchased online.

School for Student Leadership

Congratulations to Year 9 students Sam T, Raph S, Lachlan P and Sasha S, who have successfully secured a place in the School for Student Leadership program taking place in Term 4.

As part of the selection process, students completed a written application and participated in an interview process. We commend them on the initiative, effort and leadership potential they demonstrated throughout the process and look forward to seeing them represent the college in this valuable opportunity.
