YEAR 9 HEALTHY ME PROJECTS

🌿✨🌸 Healthy Me, Healthy We🌿

This term, all Year 9 students set personal goals to strengthen one or more of the Dimensions of Health: Mental, Social, Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual. Over Term 3, they worked toward these goals both inside and outside school hours, recording their progress in weekly reflections.

Student projects showcased a wide variety of healthy habits such as: reducing screen time and improving sleep quality to regular exercise routines and making healthier food choices to name but a few.

The project concluded with a special presentation day on Friday, 12 Septmber for peers and parents. Highlights included a guest session on Managing Anxiety by Bruna, Kate, and Sophie, psychologists and social workers from the Department of Education. If you would like a copy of the presentation handouts, please contact Ms McMillan at the school.

It was a wonderful celebration of the students’ hard work over a term.   Special thanks go to all the staff and students involved, as well as:

  • 🎶 ABC for the wonderful music performance
  • Ms Legg and Ms Ignatiadis, plus their team of cooks and baristas, for the delicious morning tea
  • 💻 Mr Pop for IT support
  • 🌟 Mr Neuman and Ms Devine for their leadership

Our biggest and most heartfelt thanks, however, must go to our amazing Year 9 Captains: Ebony, Mackenzie, and Mina.   Not only did they lead as Masters of Ceremonies, but they also organised the speakers, music, and ensured every presentation was ready to go. Their behind-the-scenes effort was incredible, and they truly went above and beyond to make sure that all the elements were in place.
