Phillip Island Music Camp
The Macleod College Music Academy’s Tour of Phillip Island was a resounding success. The students played to extremely appreciative audiences, including the penguins. It was a fantastic opportunity for all to collaborate, connect. Many fabulous memories were made.
SongMakers
16 Macleod College music students had the incredible opportunity to take part in the SongMakers Songwriting Workshop this year (April 1 and 2). Students spent a full school day at Macleod, writing a song with a small group of other students under the tutelage of Rromarin. They then recorded their compositions professionally with the producer Seetali Mack and Feelds (James Seymore).
Open Night
The Music Academy stole the show at Open Night on Monday 31 March with performances by The Sharp 9, Senior Band and the Vocal Ensemble. It was lovely to have such lovely support from all our families throughout the evening, we really do have a wonderful community hear at Macleod.
Workshop
On Friday 3 April, The Sharp 9 ensemble travelled to Blackburn High School to participate in a jazz workshop with trumpeter Dan Quigley. This is in preparation for the Generations In Jazz Festival that they are participating in, in early Term 2.
