This week, I had the privilege of attending a Parish Mass with the youngest students in our school. As part of their upcoming Religion unit, God's Family and the Church, the Foundation students attended Mass at Our Lady's Church in Craigieburn, before having the opportunity to spend some time listening to Fr George.

Throughout Mass and the time afterwards, these students blew us away with their respect and reverence, demonstrating such thoughtful behaviour in a sacred space.

Following Mass, Fr George spoke with the children and helped them explore some key features of the church. He was deeply impressed by their participation as they offered insightful, surprising and heart-warming answers to his questions.

When asked the question, 'How do we know that God loves us?' Students responded with the following:

He made us

He made us to be like him

Because he sent the Holy Spirit

And some responses to why Jesus died on the cross:

To keep us alive

To save us

We are so proud of our Preps, and want to give a big thank you to Fr George and everyone at the parish for making this visit possible.

In a full circle moment, moving from the youngest members of our school to the eldest, this week we held a Confirmation Family Workshop. Our Year 6 candidates and their families gathered for an enriching evening as they continue preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Together, parents and students explored the biblical symbols of the Holy Spirit: Fire, Wind, and the Dove and reflected on how faith is lived out through daily actions of kindness, dignity, and inclusion. A highlight of the night was a moment of quiet reflection where parents wrote personal words of blessing and encouragement for their children. These words will be read by the students in coming weeks as they continue to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please keep our Confirmation candidates and their families in your prayers as they approach this special milestone in their faith journey.
