Book Week Is Coming!

Only 3 weeks to go until our Mother Teresa Book Parade!

Book Week Parade: FAQ

We’re so excited to celebrate Book Week with our costume parade on Friday 28th August. See below for some answers to some common questions:

1. Can my child wear a costume to the Book Week parade?

Yes! This is a fun opportunity for students to dress up as their favourite book character. Get creative, and let the imagination flow!

2. What if I don’t have a costume for my child?

If a costume isn't available, students can wear their P.E. uniform instead. Everyone can still participate and enjoy the day!

3. What if my child’s costume has hair requirements (like a wig, or hair down etc.)?

If your child’s costume requires them to wear their hair out, that’s totally fine! Please bringa hair tie with you so they can tie it back later if needed. This ensures they stay comfortable throughout the day.

4. Can my child wear their costume all day?

If the costume is comfortable, then your child can stay in it all day. If it is not comfortable or practical to stay in all day, feel free to have your child bring their P.E. uniform to change into after the parade. 

5. Do I need to bring the book that matches the costume?

No. You don’t need to bring the book that matches the character of the costume. 

6. How long will the parade last?

The Book Week Parade will last for approximately 30-40 minutes. It’s going to be a quick, energetic and exciting time where everyone can showcase their costumes!

7. What happens if it rains on the day of the parade?

If it rains, we’ll unfortunately have to cancel the parade for that day. We’ll keep you informed if we need to make any last-minute changes due to weather.

8. Where do parents stand on the basketball court?

A layout of the basketball courts and where to stand will be sent out on compass closer to the parade date.

9. What shoes should my child wear?

Please ensure that your child is wearing closed toe shoes. No thongs or sandals etc. If your child is dressing up as a football or soccer player, no footy boots or shoes with studs are allowed. Please choose runners instead.
