Amazing Book Week at Karoo

What a fantastic Book Week we have had at Karoo Primary School! Our Symphony of Stories celebration was filled with creativity, imagination, laughter and of course, a whole lot of books!

A huge thank you to our wonderful Karoo students, families and staff for getting behind Book Week and making it such a memorable celebration. The effort, enthusiasm and creativity on display were truly amazing.

From our spectacular Book Week Parade, where we saw an incredible array of characters come to life, to our author visit, scavenger hunts, book cover and bookmark competitions, library activities and special celebrations, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

A special thank you to our amazing staff for embracing the theme and helping make Book Week so much fun. Your creativity, enthusiasm and willingness to join in made a huge difference!

And, of course, a very big well done to every Karoo student. You all helped make this year's Book Week a wonderful celebration of the magic of stories.

Book cover and book mark design winners will be announced in the coming weeks.

AUTHOR VISIT

What an incredible visit we had from author, comedian and storyteller Fiona Harris. Fiona captivated our students with her engaging presentations, wonderful stories and infectious enthusiasm for books and reading.

She had every class laughing, imagining and thinking about the power of stories, while sharing her own experiences and inspiring students to see themselves as readers and storytellers. Most importantly, Fiona left our students with a message we hope they remember long after her visit: if we want to keep our imaginations alive, we need to READ, READ, READ!

And she even brought in the first ever book she wrote – "Bath Tub Murder". 

A huge thank you to Fiona for sharing her stories, laughter and love of books with the Karoo community! 

PREMIERS’ READING CHALLENGE

1 week to go!

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is coming to an end! There’s still time to get those final books read and recorded, so make sure you get your reading in before the challenge closes.

And remember… you have to be in it to win it! 

There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs, including a prize for each year level, an overall school winner, and a class prize! 

Every book counts, so encourage your children to make the most of these final days and get those last-minute books onto their reading records.
