Performing Arts & Music

Junior Performing Arts
Our Foundation students have been loving the story Charlie the Conductor, which introduces the wonderful world of musical elements. Through the story and a range of fun, interactive games, students have been exploring the importance of beat, rhythm, tempo, dynamics and pitch. It has been fantastic to see them developing their musical ears while having lots of fun along the way!
Our Grade 1 and 2 students have continued working on their creative song parodies inspired by Eastern Rosella. Students have been busy writing, rehearsing and refining their songs, with some even building up the confidence to perform their creations to the class using real microphones! It has been wonderful to see their creativity, confidence and enthusiasm shine through their performances.
Well done, Junior Musicians!
Senior Performing Arts
Its has been a busy time in Grade 5 Performing arts. We have been learning about all things script writing with the students creating a THREE ACT PLAY. In groups, students have been planning their performance focusing on following the basic structure of a narrative writing piece (which is a piece of text with a problem and a solution for those who need to brush up on that!).
Script writing has been a key part of this process, with the students learning how to use a colon correctly as well as including scene setting in their script. This describes how the character says their lines to add depth to their performance.
Looking forward to seeing their performances in early Term 4!
