One Free Qualification

Warning: School students do not have to pay VET fees. There are fee free courses available for people who have left school but there are lots of courses that are NOT fee free. 

 

If you have done a Certificate III at school, the government will not cover any fees that apply to a Cert III VET course after you finish school.

 

Check with your training provider: Check with your training provider for information about specific courses and fees. There may be a free course that will get you on the path to a career in your chosen field. Get expert advice on fees, including resources costs at a Jobs and Skills Centre

Resources Fees Vary between Training Providers

Whether your course offers free or paid tuition fees, you will have to pay for your resources. In a course like Commercial Cookery, the fee differences can be significant. It is worth taking the time to compare costs between training providers.

31 October Applications close for 2026 full-time competitive TAFE courses

Applications for 2025 full time TAFE courses close on 31 October. 

After the first round of applications, students can still apply for any vacant positions.

 

Late Applications open Saturday 1 November 2025

 

Late applications close on Friday 6 February. 

 

Go to TAFE Admissions for help to apply or to fill out your application.

 

If you are not sure what course to apply for contact your closest Jobs and Skills Centre. They are often on the same grounds as a TAFE college. 

 

Larsen Jewellery Scholarship

Larsen Jewellery is offering a scholarship of $3,000, to go towards the University or TAFE tuition fees of one individual, for either a jewellery or jewellery design related course, or a design or visual arts related course.
