The Art Domain extends a big thank you to all who joined us at the recent Dromana Short Film Festival held at Rosebud Cinemas. The atmosphere was buzzing as students arrived in their red carpet attire and had the ‘paparazzi’ take their photos. The support from the school community added to the joy of the event.
The quality of the films showcased during the festival was nothing short of exceptional. Our talented students poured their creativity, passion, and hard work into their productions, resulting in a collection of films that left the audience in awe.
A special congratulations is to each student who participated in the
festival. Your dedication and commitment to the art of filmmaking shone through, and we are immensely proud of your accomplishments. The diversity of themes, storytelling techniques, and technical skills on display demonstrated the remarkable talent within our school.
As we celebrate the success of the Dromana Short Film Festival, let us also express our gratitude to the teachers, staff, and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event a reality. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and your support has been instrumental in nurturing the creative spirit of our students.
The positive feedback and enthusiasm from the audience reinforce the importance of providing platforms like the Dromana Short Film Festival. It not only showcases the artistic abilities of our students but also fosters a sense of community and appreciation for the arts within our school.
Once again, thank you to everyone who attended the festival, supported our students, and contributed to the overall success of
this event. We look forward to future opportunities to celebrate and showcase the incredible talents within our Dromana College community.
This term has involved several Music performance evenings, including the Year 10/11 Music Performance Evening, VCE Music Performance assessments and Term 4 Music Soirée. Over 200 students from the Music Department were involved in the performance evenings, performing in a combination of solos, duos and ensemble items.
On Sunday 15th October our Stage Band and one of the VCE ensembles performed at the Main Street Festival in Mornington, alongside numerous other wonderful local performers. The ensembles performed a range of repertoire from jazz and swing to rock music. The following week our vocal students performed in the ‘Spooktacular’ concert with Frankston Symphony Orchestra. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to perform and work collaboratively with such incredible local musicians!
Our end of year Music Soirée this year was a celebration of a wonderful year of performances. Students performed in an informal setting in the Year 7 area whilst a BBQ was run by the student leaders. To finish the year, our musicians will be performing at various community events, and most notably the Mt Martha community carols on Saturday 23rd December.
